Do I need a prescription from my child’s pediatrician to schedule an appointment with a physical, occupational, or speech therapist?

Most insurance carriers require a prescription from a physician in order to pay for therapy services.  If you are planning to submit charges through your insurance carrier, then it is advisable to have a prescription in advance of your first visit.  In addition, some insurance carriers require special authorizations.  It is best to call us and discuss your insurance coverage/payment preferences.  In most instances we are able to fax a request to your child’s pediatrician and have prescriptions sent directly to our office for your convenience.
